Visit Frieze London, 15-19 October 2014
You are invited to join a specially curated programme for New Zealand collectors to visit Frieze London, one of the world’s most respected international contemporary art fairs and at the same time, experience the art world of London, through a programme of visits to galleries, museums, studios and private collections.
During Frieze week, the art world descends on London as an architect designed temporary structure in Regents Park becomes home to more than 100 of the top international galleries invited to show work made since the year 2000. Alongside this, Frieze Focus is a section dedicated to young galleries and emerging artists made up of solo and group stand proposals, specifically conceived for the fair. A third section, new this year is Frieze Live, which will include galleries presenting ambitious live participatory works in an art fair context. Concurrent with Frieze there is a second fair, Frieze Masters, offering a carefully selected presentation of approximately a hundred and twenty of the world’s leading galleries. The participating galleries exhibit iconic works of art ranging from the ancient era and old masters through to art of the 20th century.
What you will receive: All New Zealand collectors participating in the visit will receive a VIP invitation to Frieze, enabling VIP access to both Frieze and Frieze Masters on the preview day (Wednesday 15th October) as well as invitations to a week long programme of VIP events at some of the most significant contemporary exhibitions in London at the time.
The programme for New Zealand collectors is arranged and led by Stephanie Post, who recently moved to Auckland from London, where, having completed a Masters in Contemporary Art Theory at Goldsmiths, she worked with a number of critically acclaimed not-for-profit contemporary art organisations, and has arranged Patron-level visits to events including the Venice Biennale, Documenta, Munster Sculpture project and Frieze London. In addition to the Frieze VIP programme, Stephanie will arrange a special programme of events offering opportunities to meet artists and gallerists, including curated tours of London’s commercial galleries and not-for-profit institutions, studio visits, private collection visits and lunches and dinners. All the events will be optional, allowing you to choose how you spend your time in London. Flights and accommodation are to be arranged by each participant. Frieze has a number of partner hotels in London which will be recommended nearer the time.
Numbers for the visit to London are limited and we are now seeking expressions of interest. The fee for the visit will be $500 per person plus additional charges for optional lunches, dinners and other special events, to be notified once the programme has been finalised.
